Additional Domain Information
More Top Level Domains are Proposed
To make more domain names available, and in an effort to address the problem that one and only one business can register acme.com, even though there are many different "acme" businesses, a proposal has been made to create several new top level domains, each specific to different types of business. For example, .firm would apply to firms and businesses, .store to businesses selling goods, .info to those providing information services, etc. This will open up large pools of new domain names, but some concerns remain. Many observers expect .com to remain the domain of choice for for-profit businesses, since that is the domain most people are likely to try first when attempting to contact a business over the Internet.

Registering Multiple Domains?
Many businesses and industries hold registrations for many domain names covering various trademarks, trade names, or simply variants on their company names. If you need additional domain names, we can help! Please call 1-800-246-7333 ext. 300, or email business@wkpowerlink.com. Squatters
A large number of domain names have been registered by "squatters" who have no serious intent to use the domain names. They hope to sell the domain names to the highest bidder, or to prevent a competitor from using the domain name. You may discover that a squatter has registered your preferred domain, but is perhaps willing to sell it for the right price. If you feel that your business only has one choice for its Internet domain name, then you may attempt to negotiate an acceptable price with the squatter.
