How to get a Web Site of Your Own

To request space for your home page, e-mail support@wkpowerlink.com and ask them to enable your website. FREE Personal Web Space is available on all home plans except Email Only and Email Plus. PLEASE do not post commercial sites on this server. For information on how your business's Web Site can be loaded onto PowerLink's server, email business@wkpowerlink.com.

How to upload and access your page

Once you have been allocated space you will need to have an FTP client (software), such as ws_ftp. If you don't, you can visit a site such as http://www.winfiles.com and download a client. Using your FTP software, upload your Web Site to home.wkpowerlink.com. Login with your userid (without the @wkpowerlink.com) and your regular password. Your Web Site address (URL) will be home.wkpowerlink.com/~username.

Once you are there, copy the files into the main folder, overwriting the current index.html file.

Your main page, the one you want to open when someone goes to your site, must be named index.html otherwise browsers will be displayed only with a list of files.
