Internet Mail Setting Properties


  • Double click on My Computer icon on the desktop.
  • Double click on Control Panel icon.
  • Double click on Internet and Fax icon.
  • A dialog box will appear [Fig. 1].
  • Highlight Internet Mail.
  • Click the Properties button and the Internet Mail dialog box [Fig. 1a] will appear.

  • The Internet Mail dialog box with General and Connection folders.
  • Type your name in the Full Name box.
  • Type your e-mail address in the E-mail Address box.
  • Type your ISP mail server address in the Internet Mail server box.
  • Type your userID in the Account name box. For earlier version, this box might be named POP3.
  • Type your password in the Password box if you wish.
  • Click on the Advanced Options button and the Advanced Options dialog box [Fig. 1a2] will appear.
  • Click Apply button

  • It is not necessary to insert your ISP mail server address in the Forward all outbound.... box.
  • Click OK button.

  • Place a dot in Connect using the modem radio button.
  • Select your Dial-Up Networking connection in Dial using the following connection box.
  • Click Apply button.
  • Click Login As button, and the Login As dialog box [Fig. 1b1] will appear.

  • Type your user name in the User Name box.
  • Depending in your ISP set-up, your user name could be just your userID which is up to eight characters. In some cases, like this one, it may be your e-mail address.
  • Click OK and Apply buttons all the way back.
