Microsoft Outlook 98

Welcome to Microsoft Outlook 98.   As far as I know, you need to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 with the Outlook Express plug-in.   If you have used Outlook Express, you will see that the MS Outlook account setting is similar to Outlook Express.

There is only one section that needs to be covered so that you may start using MS Outlook 98 to check your e-mail.   This section is called Accounts.

  • As shown below [Figure 1.0], select Tools from the Menu Bar, and then select Accounts.

  • As shown below [Figure 1.1 - General], rename Mail account to WKPowerLink Mail.
  • Type your name in the Name box.
  • Type your company's name in the Organization box.
  • Type your e-mail address in the E-mail address box.
  • If you wish, you may type your e-mail address in the Reply address box.
  • Click the Servers folder tab to continue.

  • As shown in Figure 1.2, type your ISP mail server address in both Outgoing (SMTP) and Incoming (POP3) mail boxes.
  • In Account name box, type our userID.
  • You may type your password in Password box.
  • Click the Connection folder tab to continue.

  • For connection, unless you are in LAN environment, select either Connect using my phone line or I will establish my Internet connection manually.
  • See Figure 1.3.1 for difference.

  • Click Apply and then OK button to finish.
